Dolby's Advanced Technology Group (ATG) serves as the company's hub for research and technology exploration. With a diverse range of competencies, ATG drives innovation in audio, video, and augmented/virtual reality (AR/VR) applications across gaming, music, professional productions, and user-generated content. One notable achievement is Dolby Atmos, an immersive audio format integrated into various sectors like mobile devices, automotive systems, PCs, broadcasting, and digital cinemas. Expertise in computer science and electrical engineering, encompassing artificial intelligence, machine learning, audio coding, image processing, data analytics, and more, is highly valuable for our ongoing research endeavors.

As a researcher based in Stockholm, Sweden, you will be part of a global team comprised of leading specialists in audio technology, signal processing, perception, and AI/ML application within the audio realm. Together, you will drive key innovations that enable Dolby and its partners to develop groundbreaking products that redefine the realms of sound and multimedia entertainment experiences.

Your role within the team will involve spearheading the development and deployment of audio and multimedia signal processing technologies, ranging from theoretical foundations to prototype construction and demonstration. The primary objective is to craft novel experiences and venture into unexplored territories in the realms of audio, multimedia signal processing, and AI/ML-driven generation/processing/synthesis.

Knowledge & Skills:

We are seeking an individual who exudes passion for audio or multimedia domains and possesses a keen interest in leveraging AI/ML tools within these arenas. You should demonstrate a deep personal fascination with sound technologies and exhibit enthusiasm for continuous learning, research, and innovation with tangible commercial implications. A strong desire to apply your expertise to projects encompassing sound source capture, coding, audio enhancement, and playback is essential.

Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, focusing on digital signal processing, along with a robust publication track record. Requisite experience in research and/or development within areas like AI/ML, audio signal processing, video encoding, multimedia streaming, and data analysis. Proficient programming skills in platforms like MATLAB, C/C++, and Python, specializing in digital signal processing and implementing AI/ML models leveraging Pytorch and TensorFlow. Ability to fabricate software prototypes. Exceptional communication abilities with fluency in English.
