Your task:

As a systems specialist, you will manage IT systems by being responsible for the operation and maintenance of servers and applications. You will collaborate with system vendors and operating partners in installing, patching and upgrading system components. In addition, you will perform the necessary settings and adjustments to optimize the functioning of the systems.

An important part of your work will be to continuously ensure the performance of the systems and make sure they are working efficiently, as well as taking action when necessary. You will also resolve technical issues to ensure continuous availability and security. When deploying new systems and applications, you participate in planning, configuration and testing to ensure smooth implementation.

Technical support and problem solving for users and colleagues is another central part of your duties. You will also support an administrative manager in tasks that he handles. Sometimes work on evenings and weekends can occur, for example during system upgrades and patching.

Your team:

Our client now needs to meet an increased demand for skills and is now looking for two system specialists to strengthen their unit. Our client is looking for individuals who together can cover the necessary skills and are ready to learn new areas. During the recruitment process of the two system specialists, our client needs to strengthen the team through an interim solution with a consultant who will settle into the work and manage skills transfer together with existing staff, and then be responsible for skills transfer to the system specialists who will be recruited

The unit employs 12 enthusiasts who are passionate about developing themselves, each other and the business in various areas, in line with the strategy "Energy for transition and sustainable growth". Our client is a bunch of different personalities in the unit but their common passion is to help each other and their colleagues with specialist knowledge.

Within the unit, specialists work in several areas (e.g. measurement collection, data communication, energy services, energy theft, data analysis, project management, control bodies, IT security, administrative management, asset management, district heating, district cooling, electricity, gas, water, compressed air) who together contribute expertise in the whole company. All specialists have their own niche, but collaborate a lot inside and outside the unit, with colleagues as well as external partners and suppliers.

Duties and responsibilities vary based on individual development, experience and the needs of the business. Thanks to their broad specialist competence, employees have the opportunity to develop by changing positions and areas of responsibility within the unit.

Your skills:

Our client is looking for a civil engineer or equivalent in computer technology, information technology or similar and preferably in one or more of the following areas of knowledge:

Networks, servers, firewalls and database management

Troubleshooting, system administration and application management

System integrations

SQL databases Oracle and Microsoft

Operating systems such as Windows server/PC and Linux

Ethernet (TCP/IP), VPN, firewalls and other network technologies

Basic knowledge of programming and Windows scripting

System testing

Administrative management

Experience and knowledge in the following areas are meritorious: SCADA systems in property automation, systems for measurement collection of energy meters, embedded systems (energy meters and control equipment in property automation/district heating), report tools such as Power BI, and cloud solutions.

Our client is looking for someone who is both flexible and has a strong will to collaborate, with a clear understanding of the importance of their own role in relation to other actors. Your ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both with technicians and business representatives, will be critical to the success of this role. Being able to keep calm and act effectively even under challenging situations is also of great importance to succeed in this role.
