Senior CFD Simulation Scientist

Be a Leading Technical Expert at the Technology Consulting Department:

As the need for advanced exploration in fluid dynamics and Multiphysics applications continues to grow, we are seeking a Principal CFD/Multiphysics Simulation Engineer to bolster the Applied Mechanics Department.

The portfolio of the department encompasses a wide array of cutting-edge products for high and medium voltage, particularly focusing on high-voltage cables, aiding the global community in the journey towards a sustainable energy transformation.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Carry out CFD/Multiphysics analysis for various cutting-edge product applications to resolve intricate challenges in areas of fluid mechanics and electromagnetism for medium and high voltage
  • Initiate and lead technology and/or product development endeavors to deliver innovative solutions with customer value
  • Comprehend the needs of both internal and external customers along with their business motivations, and implement imaginative solutions that demand advanced computational models and intricate simulation analyses
  • Lead and oversee a variety of consulting and R&D projects from start to finish, engaging in all stages from initial client consultations to execution and reporting. Your expertise in modeling and simulation will contribute to the future enhancement of world-class high and medium voltage products.

The position is a permanent full-time role based in Västerås, Sweden.

The Technology Consulting team has been delivering interdisciplinary investigations and solutions for over a century, spanning both long-term projects and time-sensitive inquiries. Our unique blend of laboratories and expertise in mechanics, electrical testing, chemistry, and materials, coupled with extensive experience collaborating with industry partners across different sectors, positions us as the preferred partner in resolving technical obstacles. Innovative & Collaborative Senior CFD Simulation Scientist

To excel in this role, having multiple years of industrial experience in Technical +, Mechanics, Thermal & Fluid dynamics, Aeronautics, or related domains will be beneficial.

Further assets for this fulfilling position include the ability to bring substantial value to the business and customers through your technical expertise, exceptional communication skills to effectively transmit information, and a self-driven, collaborative, innovative, and systematic mindset that fosters organized and logical thinking.

Additional essential qualifications entail:

  • Proficiency in CFD, electromagnetism, and numerical modeling with strong programming and scripting abilities
  • Exceptional skills and extensive experience with commercial software, like COMSOL
  • Knowledge in machinery cooling/forced convection, free convection, multiphase simulations, non-Newtonian fluids/extrusion flows, high voltage electric fields, Multiphysics simulations, electromagnetic applications, and commercial finite element analysis software
