Contechs is currently hiring for a Senior CMF Designer position on behalf of a top Automotive client located in Gothenburg, Sweden. They are in search of a talented individual to take on the responsibility of delivering comprehensive CMF solutions and detailed specifications for assigned projects.

Job Description:

  • Lead (senior) Designer specializing in Colour, Material, and Finish (CMF)
  • The automotive industry is going through significant changes with challenges and opportunities on the horizon.
  • As we transition towards new mobility, electrification, and autonomous driving, our Client is dedicated to supporting the group strategy of achieving carbon neutrality by 2045.
  • As a CMF Designer, you will play a key role in shaping sustainable CMF choices for the brand.
  • Your main tasks will involve developing complete CMF solutions and detailed specifications for assigned projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Create innovative design solutions meeting technical requirements while collaborating closely with other design teams.
  • Develop sustainable CMF concepts translated into physical solutions and prototypes with CMF Specialists and our trim shop.
  • Focused on creating 2D and 3D patterns for various applications.
  • Conduct meticulous benchmarking and research.
  • Produce Colour, Material, Finish documentation and ensure CMF releases align with design milestones and plans.
  • Prepare both physical and digital presentations.
  • Participate in design reviews and project meetings, representing CMF for your projects.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Project, and Marketing teams in China.
  • Contribute creatively to non-project assignments, workshops, and CMF strategies within the community.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Transportation Design, or Fine Arts.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial or transportation design.
  • Prior involvement in sustainability and research is a plus.
  • In-depth understanding of design and CMF development processes.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbally and visually.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and VRED for effective 2D and 3D visualization.
  • Knowledge of software such as Substance, Blender, Unreal, Rhino, and Grasshopper is beneficial.
  • Fluency in English; Mandarin proficiency is advantageous.

Additional Information:

  • The role will be based in our Gothenburg studio with an 'office first' approach and WFH flexibility.
  • Occasional travel to China may be required (approximately 1-2 trips per year).
  • Team members are entrusted with high levels of autonomy and responsibility.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
