Welcome to Clarion Hotel Gillet, Uppsala's premier meeting place. With 161 hotel rooms, 21 meeting rooms, The Social Bar & Bistro, banquet facilities for up to 200 people, and Selma City Spa, there is something here for everyone.

We are currently seeking a creative and passionate Head Chef with extensive experience in leading a team and a commitment to delivering an unmatched guest experience.

The Head Chef will report to the Operation Manager.

The role involves overseeing our A la Carte Restaurant - The Social Bar & Bistro, banquet operations, breakfast service, as well as catering to our SPA department and reception.

In your team, you will be responsible for:

• Sous Chef
• Chefs, including breakfast chefs
• Cold dish chefs
• Dishwashers

• You have proven experience in leadership and can demonstrate successful outcomes.
• You have a passion for people, care about your team, and value satisfied guests.
• You enjoy interacting with guests in the dining area to share what's being served.
• You are adept at meeting set targets.
• You understand the importance of feedback and contribute to our valuable feedback culture to help team members grow.
• You possess good knowledge of data and are skilled in kitchen economics and labor law.
• You easily adapt to learning new systems.
• You can fluently communicate in both spoken and written Swedish and English.
• We prefer candidates who have previously worked as a Head Chef in a hotel or held another leadership position in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and participate in daily operations.
• Organize and schedule to achieve goals.
• Approve invoices and ensure correct cost allocation.
• Inventory, order supplies, and liaise with suppliers.
• Be responsible for department results in terms of cost control and budgeting to deliver COGS within set goals.
• Participate in department head meetings and follow the current meeting structure.
• Plan and conduct monthly meetings with the team.
• Communicate goals/departments and follow up.
• Use our systems for guest satisfaction (Loopon) and employee satisfaction (Peakon).
• Personnel management, recruitment, onboarding, offboarding.
• Responsible for hygiene routines, self-control, food handling.
• Systematic work environment management.
• Work hours should be adjusted to ensure full control over operations. Evenings and weekends are part of the job and are planned based on bookings.
