As the Engineering Lead, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the design of the Aerbon DAC system and when built to optimize the operational aspects of the facilities. This role requires a solid engineering background, drive and attention to detail. If successful, the role may lead to a Head of Operations role.

Key Responsibilities:

Design engineering:

  • Provide input on the mechanical design of the system
  • Work with consultants on front-end engineering design studies

Supply chain management

  • Work directly or with the Aerbon team on ensuring a stable and cost-effective supply chain

Operations:

  • Oversee pilot plant and testing
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of Aerbon Direct Air Capture facilities, ensuring output, uptime and safety

Team Management (after pilot phase):

  • Build and lead a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.

During the first 3-6 months the role will be part time. Thereafter, the intention is for you to become full-time and a founding partner of the company. The level of involvement is dependent on traction and financing but we foresee the person is able to initially spend at least 30-50% of full time on the project and be able to ramp this up to full time should this be necessary in the future.

  • Master's and/or PhD degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in mechanical design of process equipment
  • Experience with handling experimental rigs or pilot facilities or large scale plants (is a merit)
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Motivated to work in a startup environment
