Position Overview

The Ripener is in charge of fruit ordering, ripening the fruit according to customer specifications, and handling the delivery process, including administration tasks. The role involves adhering to Quality Standards outlined in the company's procedures and in alignment with Food Inspection guidelines. This position demands 24/7 availability.

Main Tasks

  • Regular monitoring of color and pulp temperature.
  • Ensuring delivery of the final product as per requirements.
  • Allocation of ripening rooms for incoming fruit.
  • Overseeing the loading and unloading of fruit, including inspections.
  • Daily inventory control.
  • Identifying and addressing non-conformities with the Lead Ripener or DC Manager when necessary.
  • Compliance with HACCP values and participation in the HACCP Team.
  • Supervising and supporting the Team Leader Packing and Packers.
  • Conducting quality assessments of incoming and outgoing fruit and reporting any anomalies in fruit, pallets, or packaging.

Qualifications

Understanding fruit behavior under various conditions, temperature effects, etc. Previous experience in banana processing/ripening, inventory management, and quality control is highly desirable.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma and/or Technical background.
