About the Role
As a Separation Scientist, you will collaborate with a dedicated team of scientists to analyze, separate, and characterize small molecule chemical libraries. Your primary responsibility will be to provide automated analytical and preparative chromatography solutions to ensure the delivery of pure compounds for various projects within AstraZeneca.
You will have the chance to work with cutting-edge chromatographic equipment and liquid handlers. Effective communication and scientific drive are essential as you will coordinate with analytical and synthesis teams to facilitate sample progression. Experience and technical expertise in chromatographic separations in a drug discovery setting would be beneficial.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer hands-on support in separation science for drug discovery chemistry using advanced chromatographic instrumentation
- Conduct automated analysis and purification of new compounds using LC-MS and HPLC techniques
- Ensure the reliability, performance, and data quality of analytical instruments and automation systems
- Collaborate within the team to propose enhancements in processes and infrastructure
- Contribute to an innovative and project-focused organizational culture by closely working with scientists across the discovery department
Your Profile
As a separation scientist, you have a proven track record of applying creative analytical chemistry solutions.
Skills and Qualifications
- BSc/MSc in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry
- Proficiency in analytical and preparative chromatographic techniques (HPLC, HPLC-MS) with expertise in method development and equipment troubleshooting
- Laboratory experience in analytical chemistry and automation methods
- Thorough knowledge of utilizing analytical techniques to solve complex scientific queries
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary settings
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong time management abilities, proactive planning, and result-oriented approach fostering teamwork and successful project completion
About the Company
This is a one-year consultancy role at AstraZeneca in Gothenburg. The start date is flexible based on the candidate's availability. During this period, you will be employed by QRIOS.
