Accidents and near-misses are thoroughly reported and investigated, and corrective actions are taken.

Ericsson is searching for a VP Head of Occupational Health, Safety and Well-being who will work closely together with the Executive Team as well as business leaders in the Market Areas and Business Areas and be the executive focal point for the successful and timely execution of the program management for all group-wide Health and Safety program, Ericsson Care. In this context, the VP Head of Occupational Health, Safety and well-being will be responsible for driving and advancing the OHS strategy and continuing to drive a safety leadership cultural change in close collaboration with the Executive Team and key stakeholders.

The VP Head of Occupational Health, Safety and Well-being will play a central role within the organization with the opportunity to deliver significant impact and value creation for Ericsson and act as a key contributor to successfully embed health and safety in Ericsson's strategic decision-making process. This role reports to SVP Head of Marketing and Corporate Relations.

What you will do

  • Continuous development and implementation of Ericsson's Occupational Health, Safety and Well-being program, Ericsson Care and related initiatives
  • Further advancing OHS strategies, objectives, systems and tools to the benefit of employees and everyone working on behalf of Ericsson
  • Lead the culture change for Health, Safety and Well-being awareness
  • Define, collect and evaluate relevant KPIs and report progress to the Executive Team
  • Management of employee and leadership queries related to health and safety issues
  • Management of internal and external audits and assessments and comply with global, regional and local requirements
  • Lead the team of OHS experts across Ericsson to deliver the strategy and to ensure compliance to internal and external requirements, including both direct reports and the OHS community in Market Areas and Business Areas.
  • Strengthen and evolve the OHS function and review/assess the current ways of working, both at the Group and in the Market Areas and Business Areas to drive the OHS agenda and take full responsibility for OHS across the company.
  • Part of the Crisis Management Council for all OHS-related issues

  • Performance: Deliver on all Health, Safety and Well-being targets and drive a safety culture across the company

Strengthen supplier management connected to Health, Safety and Well-being

  • Clarify and strengthen governance
  • Establish an effective Health, Safety and Well-being organization that finds balance between centrally led OHS and regional requirements & responsibilities, and enables Market Areas and Business Areas to effectively improve safety culture
  • Act as a role model for the desired change and leadership behaviors and strengthen employee and supplier engagement.

Continuous Improvement Culture and Performance Management:

  • Define and implement measures to continuously improve safety awareness on all levels of the organization
  • Track progress of culture development and report to and guide stakeholders

Be a trusted and strategic partner to the Executive Team:

  • Engage with the CEO, the Executive team and Market and Business Area leaders to develop, implement and execute Ericsson's OHS strategy and report directly to the executive team on defined targets, status and progress.
  • Be the go-to person for senior executives and business stakeholders for latest information on OHS policy questions of relevance to the business, facilitate Executive Team-level discussions and alignment.

You will bring

  • Demonstrated ability to balance conflicts of interests and to establish data-driven and fact based discussion
  • Experience as an influencer, who makes decision and solves issues
  • Behaviors in leadership, team-building and as a role model in the multi-stakeholder collaboration
  • 10+ years of Leadership experience in occupational health & safety positions that includes stakeholder management. Corporate experience in complex organisations is required.
  • In-depth expertise and knowledge in occupational health, safety and well-being with a global perspective. Even if past experience is honed mainly in one region, the candidate is expected to have an understanding of the global landscape and trends.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate data into action and to use data to develop and measure OHS programs. Deep understanding of how to leverage technology and data for OHS purposes.
  • Exceptional leader and team player with proven ability to lead through influence at the most senior levels of a global organisation and work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a diverse and matrixed global organisation with conflicting priorities.
