About the Department

The Administration Department is responsible for all copyright and royalty matters. It administers and manages the catalogue of songs and roster of writers signed to SMP locally and internationally.

About the Position

The main purpose of this role is to manage all aspects of royalty administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Royalty Distribution Closeout: responsible for planning process and ensuring timely execution of processes included in Royalty Distribution
  • Royalty revenues: responsible for timely reconciliation of statements and reporting to Global Royalty Center of various income types and from various sources (ex copyright societies, customers)
  • Royalty distributions: managing Royalty payments and other financial transactions regarding clients in cooperation with Admin team
  • SCORE (client royalty portal): Supporting writers and team with Score usage and enquiries
  • Analyze Society and synch income regularly, cooperating with Global Analysis team UK and create reports for FD
  • Support A&R and management with Sony Dashboard analyses
  • Keep updated and knowledgeable on our processes and systems in connection with royalties
  • Income Tracking: liase with Senior Copyright Manager to release income
  • Writer/Manager Liaison: Liaising with writers, managers and accountants on any queries that may arise, supporting Finance & Royalty Analyst on more complex queries
  • Responsible for local implementation of and compliance with Global Admin & GRC directed processes
  • Ad Hoc Projects: working with special projects regarding royalty initiated by Global Admin or locally as required

Person Specification

Essential requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years work experience in an office environment
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft 365 with strong skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Advanced analytical and presentation skills
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and manage stakeholder expectations
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, both Swedish and English
  • Able to work towards tight deadlines
  • Flexibility to work across multiple time zones, as required

Desirable requirements

  • Working experience within the following industries: music, publishing, finance
  • Working experience within cross-functional teams, senior management and external clients
  • Knowledge of the music publishing and broader music industry
  • Any other language
