We are now looking to expand our team with one or more engineers with a primary focus on mechanical design for consultancy assignments in the nuclear power sector. As a mechanical designer, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects where your tasks will include, but not be limited to, the following:

• Participate in new, renovation, and expansion projects of facilities
• Design of mechanical components including the development of inspection plans
• Preparation of drawing documents for manufacturing, assembly, and verification
• Investigation and design
• Preparation of technical descriptions

The work will primarily be carried out in a design database using tools within a CAE environment.

Since the position operates in classified areas, you will undergo drug tests and security clearances before employment can commence.

As a significant part of the work will be carried out in projects, we are looking for someone who is motivated to collaborate with others rather than compete and who enjoys working towards common goals. Since you will often work on parallel assignments, it is also important that you have the ability to quickly absorb new knowledge and create structure in your daily life. This is to adapt to different expectations and manage your projects in the best way, both for yourself and your clients.

But equally important for the role is that you are driven and curious. You thrive on taking initiative and feel comfortable working in a creative environment, being proactive and engaged in what you do.

In addition to personal skills, we are looking for someone who is a professional and has work experience in the field of mechanics and design, and holds a technical education at the university level or equivalent in the field. You have good knowledge of Inventor or similar software and can work independently in developing designs of varying complexity.

Furthermore, we see that you have:

• Good knowledge of Swedish both spoken and written, as Swedish is frequently used within AFRY and with our clients.
• A driver's license as traveling is a natural part of the role.

Previous experience in the nuclear power industry or in a similar sector with high safety requirements is considered advantageous.
