Information about the division and the department at Chalmers University of Technology and the University of Gothenburg has about 200 employees and is the largest department of mathematics in Sweden.
The department has three scientific divisions:
Algebra and Geometry, Analysis and Probability Theory, and Applied Mathematics and Statistics, and conducts successful research in pure and applied mathematics and mathematical statistics in a wide range of research areas.

Major responsibilities Your major responsibility as postdoc is to perform your own research in a research group. The position may also include teaching on undergraduate and master's levels as well as supervising master's and/or PhD students to a certain extent. Another important aspect involves collaboration within academia and with society at large. The position is meritorious for future research duties within academia as well as industry/the public sector.
Qualifications Applicants should hold a PhD degree in in environmental engineering, environmental chemistry, biotechnology, chemical engineering, data science, statistics, mathematics or equivalent. Experience in statistical data analysis and programming is a requirement. Specialization in environmental modelling and/or biostatistics is meritorious.
Emphasis is also placed on personal qualities, such as cooperation and communication skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.
Good knowledge of English (both oral and written) is a requirement.To qualify for the position of postdoc, you must hold a doctoral degree awarded no more than three years prior to the application deadline (according to the current agreement with the Swedish Agency for Government Employers).
Exceptions from the 3-year limit can be made for longer periods resulting from parental leave, sick leave or military service*.
