Position Overview:

We are seeking an ESG Research Analyst to join our Norm-Based Research team in Stockholm .Our new team member will predominantlyassesscorporate controversies concerning global norms onhuman rights, while also contributing to our environmental protection, business malpractice and labour standards analyses.

The Norm-Based Research team’s analyses assist investors in making decisions regarding companies’ alleged involvement in practices that conflict with international standards and guidelines, as recognized in the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises. The team is based in Manila (Philippines), Mumbai (India) and Stockholm (Sweden). 

The successful candidate will be trained to work both independently and collaboratively with the team across different locations, conducting research on companies, relevant business activities and corporate controversies. Our new colleague will work with the teamto draft research reports on these companiesandcontribute to the maintenance of high-quality ESG analyses. They will focus primarilyoncorporate controversies relating to alleged violations of global norms on human rights,as well as participatetosimilar assessments onenvironmental protection, business malpractice and labour standards.Key capabilities required for the role include solid research, analytical, writing and communication skills, as well as a keen eye for detail and a well-organized approach to independent and collaborative work in a team.

Responsibilities:

Conduct desk research into alleged corporate involvement in activities or practices that may conflict with established international standards and guidelines.

Review information presented by and engaging in dialogue with stakeholders and companies.

Write research reports on companies’ activities connected to violations of international norms.

Participate in the research peer review process.

Participate in and contribute to team processes focused on strengthening our ESG product offering.

Qualifications:

Professional skills and qualifications:

Bachelor level degree or higher. Postgraduate degree in relevant field such as human rights, international relations, law, and/or humanities desirable. 

3 to 5 years of research experience or similarinhuman rights, preferably related to business and human rights, corporate social responsibility, ESG, and/or sustainability. 

Good understanding of corporate controversies and international standards and guidelines for responsible business conduct. Previous experience or education in these areasdesirable but not required.

Excellent language skills (fluency in Englishrequired. Additional languages are an asset).

Solid writing and research skills, including the ability to produce deadline-driven basic and advanced analyses. 

Strong interest in ESG, finance, and responsible investment.

Personal skills:

Strong work ethic, with the ability to manage workload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. 

Excellent attention to detail, and a methodical and thorough approach to the task at hand.

Proactive attitude, with the ability to motivate others and fostera positive, collaborative working environment.

Solidinterpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of an international team.
