Main Tasks and Responsibilities 

High motivation for the mission and challenges within robotics and autonomous system development Participate in R&D activities for piloting of new technologies and their suitability to production environments Implementing new technologies on VCE products Work with imaging and camera systems to integrate high-performance visual processing Follow up on new developments of perception solutions for autonomous systems Scouting on trending industry fairs and conferences Supporting smooth transfer to market introduction Keep connected to Volvo Group efforts Close collaboration with the research Programs 

Required competencies, personal skills and experience 

Master’s degree in relevant engineering sciences Basic understanding of machine learning and the willingness to increase this Strong proficiency in robotics and embedded system development Strong proficiency in programming, e.g., Python, C/C++, MATLAB Knowledge of automotive or vehicle systems engineering Be familiar with Linux/Unix environments, Git, and ROS Be familiar with sensor development, signal processing or related areas Be familiar with computer vision and respective software frameworks for data preparation and model training, e.g., OpenCV, PyTorch, data handling for AI & ML Ability to work in a cross-functional and global environment Willingness to travel occasionally Fluent in English (verbally and written) Positive attitude (“let’s do it” mentality)
