Role Overview:

We're seeking a skilled Data Engineer with a passion for sports and a keen eye for statistics to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in designing, building, and maintaining our data infrastructure, ensuring the seamless flow and integrity of large-scale sports data sets. You will work closely with our data scientists and developers, turning complex data into actionable insights that drive our AI algorithms.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain scalable and robust data pipelines for real-time and historical sports data ingestion, processing, and analysis using Python and AWS services. Implement and manage AWS cloud-based solutions to ensure high availability, performance, and security of our data infrastructure. Collaborate with data scientists to understand data requirements for AI model development and provide the necessary data engineering support. Apply your expertise in statistics and data analysis to enhance data quality and the effectiveness of our AI algorithms. Monitor data pipelines and systems performance, troubleshoot data issues, and implement optimizations. Stay updated with the latest technologies and methodologies in data engineering and sports analytics to continuously improve our data systems.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong proficiency in Python. Extensive experience with AWS services (e.g., S3, EC2, RDS, Lambda, Redshift) and managing cloud-based data infrastructure. Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing principles. Experience with real-time data processing and streaming technologies is highly desirable. A good eye for statistics and experience in statistical modeling or analysis. Passion for sports and sports data analysis is a big plus. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
