Battery Technology Engineer - Battery Competence Center

This position is within the Advanced Development team at Husqvarna Battery Competence Center (HGBCC).

HGBCC develops new concepts and technologies, performs battery development and industrialization, is responsible for battery cell sourcing, and leads Husqvarna’s battery pack manufacturing engineering. Our teams are located on multiple sites in Sweden and Germany. We are a diverse and international organization and value good cooperation and a pleasant work atmosphere.

The role as Advanced SW/HW Engineer

Advanced development is the first phase of Husqvarna Group’s product creation process. Concepts and technologies shall be developed and evaluated, and taken from an applied research level to a feasibility-demonstrated-on-prototype level. During the subsequent phases of prestudy and new product development, the AD team only has an advisory role to support the successful implementation.

Your main tasks will be to:

Work with battery and charger concept and system development and do deep dives into various specific technical topics such as thermal management, battery safety, and busbar design. Plan and lead AD projects. These projects are smaller and require much less administration than industrialization within new product development projects.

This means that you will be working with Husqvarna’s high-performing products such as professional power tools and robotic mowers in an informal and dynamic international work environment.

Location : This position can be located on any Husqvarna or Jonsered location in Sweden or in Karlstein in Germany.

Who are you

The role of an Battery Technology Engineer offers a thrilling opportunity tailored for individuals with a desire for overcoming challenges.

We see that you have a:

M.Sc. in suitable engineering or science discipline Basic understanding of all three disciplines: mechanics, electronics, software Practical experience with batteries and chargers in one of the above disciplines Experience from management of small R&D projects in industry or academia.

If you also have several of years of hands-on experience in battery engineering or battery physics and experience of stakeholder management and basic requirements engineering, it’s a plus.

In addition to technical prowess, we see that your ability to work independently, coupled with a strong inclination for effective teamwork, will contribute significantly to the success of our collaborative efforts at HGBCC. Your ability to break down a problem into parts and align stakeholders (mostly internal customers) and R&D colleagues around a plan of how to proceed together will also contribute to the department.
