The trainee program runs over three 8-week cycles (6 months). Each cycle you’ll join a small, collaborative team (2 additional full-stack developers and 1 designer) working on 6-week projects followed by an Innovation Week and an Improvement Week. You’ll:
- Collaborate with your team on real, high-impact projects within the main Teamtailor app.
- Be mentored by a senior developer who will guide you through code reviews, pair programming, and frequent feedback.
- Have regular check-ins with your coach to discuss progress and improvement areas.
You’ll have a dedicated mentor that will work closely with you for all three cycles, and we prioritize hands-on learning with:
- 1-on-1 Mentorship: Regular check-ins and tailored support.
- Pair Programming and Code Reviews: Opportunities to learn directly from experienced developers.
- Books and Courses: Access to self-study resources.
- Innovation and Improvement Weeks: Between cycles, we have two-week cooldown periods where you can dive into small projects, experiment, and focus on skills development alongside other developers.
Here's what our trainees from the latest round of the program have to say about the experience:
Joining Teamtailor's Trainee Program as my first job after college was the perfect start to my career. From day one, I felt welcomed and supported —everyone was ready to answer questions and offer advice, which greatly impacted my growth. My mentor played an invaluable role, guiding me patiently and helping me build confidence in my skills . I learned so much about the technical side of things, teamwork, and problem-solving, and I’m truly grateful for the warm welcome, the support, and the chance to contribute meaningfully from the very start .—Beatriz Mendes, Developer Trainee 2023I started at Teamtailor as a developer trainee and was welcomed by a knowledgeable, friendly mentor and a supportive team who made every challenge feel achievable. The program is thoughtfully designed, allowing me to contribute to building the product from day one, which gave me a real sense of ownership and accomplishment. Throughout this journey, my teammates were not only skilled but also genuinely caring and encouraging, celebrating our successes and helping each other grow. Thanks to the valuable learning and collaborative environment, I’m excited to be writing this testimonial now as a regular developer.
