Scientific Evidence Partner, Ophthalmology

The Position

The Scientific Evidence Partner (SEP) has a key role in scientific knowledge and clinical trial execution in the local Roche organization. This is done with high focus on partnering, innovating and implementing sustainable solutions for Healthcare and Roche. By doing so the SEP will be directly accountable to deliver better outcomes for patients, their community, the ecosystem and the organization, faster.

The SEP is an empowered specialist and expert in Clinical Trials & Evidence Generation. They work closely with key stakeholders, especially the Disease Area TAEs to generate scientific evidence and support that directly fills identified gaps in the patient journey in a given therapeutic or disease area.

Key Accountabilities: 
Optimize patient access and demand for Roche Disease Area Solutions through:

Clinical research & Evidence Generation : Initiate and lead our scientific work on scientific partnerships with external stakeholders in the Disease Area with the ambition to unlock possibilities to deliver value for the society and Roche. Accountabilities includes:

Support the management of ongoing study initiatives in strong collaboration with Competence Center Science within the affiliate study team 

Develop Study Protocols (when applicable) in close collaboration with TAE, HCPs/Investigators

Provide medical oversight of execution and report of clinical trials, non-interventional studies, CUP and RWE/RWD projects according to ICH-GCP, Roche SOPs and local regulations

Scientific support when performing feasibilities of global studies

Provide expert disease area support to all Competence Center that provide different services safety, regulatory, medical information) to customers, aligned with SOPs and local regulations

Collaborate with and support scientific colleagues in other disease areas and affiliates as well as the global study teams

Scientific/Medical HTA dossier support : Have deep scientific competence and knowledge to be able to provide scientific rationales and arguments relevant for HTA dossiers in dialogue with external TAEs, where relevant in collaboration with Patient Journey Partner(s).

Key Skills, Experiences, Knowledge and Qualifications:

Skills and Experiences: 

Excellent stakeholder engagement skills including partnering with TAE's and Healthcare, a strong external TAE network will be necessary to create impact

Scientific background, knowledge in ICH GCP and local regulations, and ability to develop and drive scientific studies and projects 

Strong passion and capability to create value and impact for the Disease Area ecosystems 

Able to add value and bring clarity in external stakeholders dialogues on our current & future portfolio

Ability to identify a shared purpose among stakeholders and focus on removing barriers for our drugs & solutions to reach patients and unlock possibilities

Identify scientific gaps and work with TAEs to generate data that address these gaps

Highly Self-Managed with strong communicative skills

Knowledge:

Deep knowledge of patient journey(s) and related treatments in defined disease area(s), enabling value adding engagement at the TAE and specialist level.

Deep Scientific knowledge in relevant Disease Areas

Deep knowledge of how Clinical trials and Compassionate Use Programs are performed in Roche

Other relevant capabilities:

Strong growth mindset, learn & unlearn quickly by taking risks & experiment and share knowledge

Fluent in Swedish, and proficient in English to collaborate internally across the broader Roche enterprise

Qualifications:

Medical or PhD degree strongly desired or University degree (scientific degree) or an advanced degree in Life science and/or MBA. Extensive experience from the Pharmaceutical Industry (+10 years) will be desired if no Medical or PhD degree. 

This roles location is preferably at our Solna office in Sweden.
