Launched as a 27th-generation application, basense combines a social network with an affiliate marketing platform. Users can generate and curate reviews on products, services, and events, creating a robust marketplace powered by community-driven trust. Our affiliate and shared business model allows ambassadors to earn commissions while driving sales and business growth.
We are seeking a dynamic Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) to lead our commercial strategy, focusing on our user growth and retention, and driving our revenue streams across affiliate commissions, consulting services and SaaS fees. This is an equity-based role until funding is secured, offering a unique opportunity to be an integral part of shaping and scaling our business globally.
TasksKey Responsibilities:
- Commercial Strategy Development: Define and execute the overall commercial strategy, ensuring the sustainable growth of basense across multiple geographies and verticals.
- User Growth & Retention: Spearhead global initiatives to drive user acquisition and retention by implementing data-driven strategies and user engagement models.
- Affiliate & Ambassador Programs: Lead the development and scaling of influencer, ambassador, and affiliate marketing programs to grow the platform’s reach and engagement.
- Revenue Optimization: Optimize monetization strategies across affiliate commissions, consulting services, and SaaS fees, ensuring a scalable, profitable business model.
- Branding & Targeting: Oversee the strategic rollout of branding and marketing campaigns, tailored to target audiences in different regions and verticals.
- Market Expansion: Develop market entry strategies for new regions, collaborating closely with marketing agencies and local partners to expand basense’s merchant and user base.
- Cross-functional Leadership: Work closely with multiple stakeholders across the company - including marketing, sales, and technology, and product teams - to ensure alignment and a seamless user experience.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data analytics to refine user and customer acquisition strategies, improve retention rates, and drive customer lifetime value (CLV).
Key Requirements:
- Proven Leadership: Extensive experience as an executive in commercial roles, with a focus on digital marketing, B2C and B2B business models, and scaling user-centric platforms.
- Affiliate Marketing Expertise: Experience in building and scaling direct affiliate and influencer marketing programs, with a focus on driving sales and building brand trust.
- Growth-Oriented Mindset: Demonstrated success in driving customer growth and retention in tech-driven platforms, ideally in app-based ecosystems or SaaS environment.
- Marketing & Sales Integration: Strong understanding of how marketing and sales processes intersect, with the ability to leverage both to drive commercial success.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Proven ability to work closely with multiple stakeholders across various departments to drive cohesive business strategies.
- Entrepreneurial Spirit: A proactive, outcome-oriented mindset with the ability to navigate high-risk, high-reward startup environments.
- Innovative Thinking: Ability to conceptualize, communicate, and grow innovative marketing and commercial applications, particularly in social and affiliate networks.
- Global Experience: Experience working in remote, decentralized teams with a global focus, especially in high-growth, tech-driven environments.
- Educational Background: Degree in Marketing, Business, or related fields, with strong experience in digital marketing, content marketing, and SaaS business models.
