Site Director

 

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join us as a Site Director for our Manufacturing site in Malmo. This pivotal role offers an exciting opportunity to drive strategy, foster growth, and lead a dedicated team towards operational excellence. The position manages the Operations Paints & Coatings supplying Deco and ICO BU. In this role you will lead all site operations to ensure safe operation, facility management and asset utilization. Also, you will ensure a safe operating environment in line with organizational, and local HSE standards. You are a role model for leadership and people development at the Malmo site.

 

Responsibilities

In your role as Site Director you will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Leads the manufacturing team to deliver products at agreed quality, service, and cost levels in line with budget.
  • Leads and develops the team in line with AkzoNobel performance and development practices.
  • Overall legal responsibility for Paints & Coatings manufacturing activities at Malmo site.
  • Acts as Legal Entity Director on behalf of Akzo Nobel in Malmo.
  • Assures fulfilment of AkzoNobel HSE&S and quality standards across the site and maintains relationships with local authorities.
  • Drives continuous improvements of the manufacturing operations in quality, cost, people development and HSE&S areas.
  • Plan and execute investments to support continuous development of the site’s management system.
  • Leverages the manufacturing network across EMEA to share and implement best practices.
  • Owns the relationship with local unions to promote and enable good cooperation.
  • Hosts internal and external audits and assure implementation of needed corrective actions.
  • Responsible for the processes “Plan and Produce” in management system.
  • Member of the Country Custodian team, senior leaders from across all functions operating across the Swedish business who are responsible for making decisions that impact all aspects of AkzoNobel’s activities in Sweden.

 

Key activities

  • As the Leader of the site management team, contribute to the formulation of site strategy and objectives from a production perspective and ensure site capabilities, constraints and HSE considerations are incorporated into site plans.
  • Lead an operational excellence agenda by coaching & teaching functional excellence in all areas while achieving sustainable improvement in the safety, reliability, productivity, quality and eco-efficiency of the production or plant operations.
  • Establish performance standards for production and lead continuous improvement by strong focus at growth through OEE improvements.
  • Implement (DO) (ALPS) and standard CoE processes for site consistent with the agreed ISC functional excellence agenda.
  • Develop individual team members and build a team which collectively is capable of and fully. involved in achieving the task. Also establish and enforce minimum personal performance level within production.
  • Ensures safe operation, design, installation, and maintenance of equipment across the site.
  • Optimizes production through collaborating with planning and supply chain teams, working. across the organization end to end to maximize outputs.
  • Network with other production managers at site and inside AkzoNobel to develop knowledge, experience and leverage best practice.

 

Qualifications

  • University Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience managing production.
  • Communicates confidently and effectively in both Swedish and English.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, communicate and deliver results in a manufacturing.
  • environment.
  • Experience managing union relationships.
