HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) is a product group in Hitachi Energy, which develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. It is also used to connect power systems.

Seize this opportunity to take on a highly visible position in a global organization. We are looking for an engaging and driven person to lead one of our HVDC system study and simulation teams.

You will be part of HVDC System Design department and report to the Global Manager HVDC System Performance.

Your team will be part of the entire design process; from technology development, marketing support & tender work to final design and verification in HVDC Projects. The team evaluates/verifies HVDC system performance by conducting studies and analysis such as Dynamic Performance Study and Compliance with Grid Codes by utilizing simulation tools such as PSCAD, Power Factory and PSS/E.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead the team of system engineers responsible for simulation and studies to evaluate and verify HVDC system performance.
  • Responsible for process adherence and quality assurance within technical function area.
  • Establish and maintain alignment, collaboration, and system support towards neighboring departments as well as the entire HVDC System Design department.
  • Develop your team and ensure individual competences and developments needed to meet business needs, in alignment with internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Adapt and implement short term strategic initiatives to fit your team and to achieve alignment with Company strategies.
  • Ensure quality output and take ownership of team’s delivery and monitor process adherence as well as leading continuous improvement efforts within your team.

Your background 

  • You hold a university degree preferably in the field of electrical engineering, electrical power systems or similar.
  • Preferably you have previous management experience.
  • You are interested in people and are prepared to support and empower your team.
  • You are open, communicative, responsive, adaptive and are able to lead in a rapidly changing business environment.
  • Previous experience from HVDC or FACTS technology.
  • Fluency in English is required. Swedish knowledge is a plus.
  • As a person you are a team player, and you work in an analytical and structured manner.
  • You take responsibility for your team’s work, quality output and delivery on time.
